Today’s issue is going to be a short one because ain’t nobody got time for this. 😁
In one of my previous issues Creating Better Content, I already talked about the importance of quality writing.
I approached it more from an ethical perspective.
I had no data to support my theory that writing listicles and threads on Google Chrome Plugins, courses, and whatnot is probably a waste of time.
Unless you’re in the $/eyeball business like one of my friends — his advertisers pay him based on how many likes he gets on his posts.
The more likes he gets per post, the more the advertisers pay him for future ads.
But it is counterproductive for the rest of us, who already have or would like to have, at some point in the future, maybe a digital product to offer.
The other day, while working out, I was listening to Ship 30 to 30 on YouTube.
I almost dropped the weights, only to rewind the video a couple of seconds because I wasn’t sure what I was hearing.
But I heard it right.
Ship 30 to 30 articulates well what I was trying to say in my previous newsletters.
And what I always felt is counterproductive:
Reach or resonance.
This is what either turns Twitter into a platform where you go to ease your engagement craving or into a platform that brings you some extra cash.
Think about this before putting together the next listicle, a thread of plugins, or VSCode themes.
I’ll certainly think about it.
Finally, another great resource that’s been shared in the video by Dickie is the idea expansion framework.
This looks promising. I’ve used part of this in my writing routine, but I still missed many chances to create more content.
I hope this little write-up will help you to stick to creating even better content.
And despite not receiving the likes and engagement like some Twitter threads, you’ll know there’s a reason why you’re doing this.
See you in the next one 👋

Thanks for this, Akos!
I actually started writing again articles on my blog on Hashnode, and spending less time doing listicles on Twitter. 😊
