Last week I challenged myself to write 35 threads in the next 35 weekdays, and now you’re reading my report after the first week.
The sample size is still small, but I can already see some patterns.
If I wanted to summarize the two thread themes that worked in one sentence:
People would like to obtain more knowledge faster and make more money.
How surprising. 😄
My methods for scoring each thread will be based on this tweet.
So basically, the number of replies and profile clicks:
All book links are my affiliate links - if you buy the book with them, you support what I’m doing: helping people get into writing. Also, I made $0.05 with my first affiliate link this week, so this is surely the way to some life-changing money.
The results
I got the most replies for my book review of Alex Hormozi’s 100M Offers. People either bought and read the book or know about it and want to read it. It’s a fairly popular book, so it resonated with people.
Most profile visits came from the thread where I write about reading books. I’m not sure what’s with the high number of impressions. I would’ve expected more replies and likes for something with more impressions, but there weren’t - that’s why the low Engagement rate number (last column).
One notable mention is the thread about copywriting. It almost seems like a sweet spot sitting in the middle:
2nd highest number of profile views
3rd highest number of replies
most engagement
Reading the replies, the feedback was positive, and people found the thread informative.
What’s next?
I’d say it’s still too early to make any adjustments or deep-dive into any topics based on this amount of data.
Book-related topics worked on average better than the others: How I’m reading books with the most impressions and 100M offers with the most replies.
I’m definitely doing a book review again. I just finished reading The Almanack of Naval Ravikant. The book is down-to-earth, practical advice that makes you think about some aspects of your life for days.
I hesitated to pick this book because it’s in the Spirituality category. After reading The Power of Now last summer, I thought I’d give a break to spirituality books because that one had some serious mumbo-jumbo moments. It’s a good book, but especially in the beginning, I had to “push through” some parts.
I’ll be a speaker at an event on May 2, where I have to prepare a presentation about audience building anyway, so that’s another thread idea.
The challenge continues, and if you’d like to follow the results and see where this goes, subscribe below.
Thanks for reading, and have a beautiful Sunday.
Cheers,
Akos
