Hi everyone!
I started the challenge “35at35” two weeks ago, and you’re reading the second update of this challenge.
You can see the first update here.
Let’s dive into the results through my Typefully dashboard 👇
All stats are up compared to next week! 🎉
This week’s clear winner is the thread about my mistakes in audience building on Twitter.
Only the last thread (it was quite a meta topic) on this list got fewer views than my lowest-viewed thread last week, but everything else is up.
What did I change
After analyzing last week’s data, I knew I wanted to keep two topics:
book summary
making money
My book review thread performed the best last week, followed by a thread about how I’m reading books.
However, I considered my money-making thread on copywriting the sweet spot because it had:
2nd highest number of profile views
3rd highest number of replies
most engagement
So it was clear that besides writing about books, I must include something that helps people make money.
What’s next
I’m not going to change anything.
I finished reading Show Your Work by Austin Kleon this week (this is my affiliate link), so I’m due a summary of that. So there goes my book thread.
Book threads perform great, and I love reading, so this is a win-win.
I’ll do two threads on audience building - luckily, I’m full of inspiration because of my recent participation as a speaker at a bootcamp this week.
I have to do two money-making threads, and this is where things get difficult.
I don’t want to send people to Upwork because my long-term goal is not to work through Upwork either. Since I can make money there pretty much when I want, people could get something out of my advice, but I’m not sure if that’s the right thing to do.
But I also can’t make sustainable income through Gumroad or ConvertKit yet, so I’d rather not write a thread on how to make $500/mo on these platforms either 😃. And the truth is, I don’t have any paid products I’m actively marketing, so… I have to think about these two threads more.
That’s it for the 2nd summary of the 35at35 challenge! If this is in any way helpful to you, or I’m missing some data, or you’d like something else to be evaluated, please let me know.
Life update
I had to help out a friend this week, and I’m still recovering from the long hours and stress.
Yesterday was the first day when I finally managed to write something long-form. You can read it here: Stop Saying I Don’t Have the Time To Write.
Thank you for reading, and enjoy your Sunday!
Cheers,
Akos
