Congrats on the course! Looks like it’s going pretty well :)

Are you planning to do more? I was thinking about doing one myself, but was not sure how to go about it

Thanks Anton! Yes, I'm already planning my next course! It was a fun experience now that I could actually get it done.

You should go about it like I did, limit the ideation phase and spend most time recording it. Spending time on research doesn't guarantee success.

What a nice relevant post Akos!

Went through the same thing last year. The endless loop of planning and trying to find the best tool for the job.

Finally, I decided to just go with minimal planning (decide on 1-2 important projects) and just focus on executing them as best I could. It has turned around things.

It sucks because it's almost time wasted. Maybe the experience you get by trying out the tools is useful, but, if they didn't help you accomplish your goal, it's questionable how relevant that experience is.

This happened to me while recording this course too.

I used a studio-level software for editing my YouTube videos and learned it very well. I tried to use it for the course too. Then my friend showed me this other tool with horrible UI, $3/mo subscription that essentially made everything 5x faster. But I was afraid to abandon this other tool I already know, but in fact it only slowed me down.

Glad to hear cutting the planning and doing things also worked out for you! 🔥

To be motivated it's important to maintain a feeling of accomplishment every day, week, month. I usually choose 1-2 most impactful things and try to get them done.

Planing specific hours rarely works because whatever I want to do always takes longer than I originally think :)

And thanks for the shoutout Akos!

You are welcome, loved the article! Exactly! I also timebox everything aggressively. As the saying goes, tasks take up the time you allocate to accomplish them!
